Community development NGO in Ghana advancing climate resilience, child protection, Gender equality and youth empowerment

Communities first

Savannah Rights Initiative (SRI) is a Ghana-based community development NGO implementing integrated programmes in climate resilience, hazardous child labour prevention, youth employment, gender equality, and inclusive governance.

We work in cocoa-growing districts, artisanal mining communities, and climate-vulnerable rural areas across Ghana where poverty, unemployment, and weak protection systems limit sustainable development outcomes.

Empowering lives through opportunity and protection

SRI aims to improve economic resilience, reduce hazardous child labour, strengthen women’s participation in governance, and increase access to decent employment for the youth, women, and vulnerable children.

Integrated Community Development Model

Unlike single-issue interventions, SRI uses an integrated development approach that combines:

By working across sectors within the same communities, we address the root causes of poverty, child labour, unemployment, and exclusion simultaneously.

Our Strategic Goals

Improve economic resilience for the youth, women, and vulnerable children.

Reduce hazardous child labour in target communities.

Support the youth into employment or sustainable enterprises.

Increase women’s and youth participation in local governance
